Giger ALIEN with NOSTROMO base

Here now the final Giger ALIEN renders as stand alone.

I searched for the best possibility to present the model and therefor a standing base or pedestal was obvious.

There are allot of ALIEN model kits, action figures and collectors statues and busts out there, and they all have the different kind of bases or diorama environments. Since I already built the whole Egg silo/chamber based on H. R. Giger´s biomechanical designs, I thought of something different and like it was in the movies, something which opposes to the ALIEN design.

A base that resembles the NOSTROMO interior, the inside of the man made ship of the first film, was quickly favored by myself.

I see it as little homage to Ron Cobb, who was mainly responsible for the NOSTROMO interior designs and whose work i admire as an industrial designer.

Well, I could not resist and make a few additional renders with the cgi ALIEN inside my Giger Concept egg chamber. Home sweet home. At least it´s warm and humid ;)

This one I call "Powerslave". Was listening to Iron Maiden last night while rendering that one.

Yep, I call it done. Fixed the ALIEN mesh, rig and textures to a decent point of my own satisfaction.

It is placed now in a more proper environment for render shots and it´s given an even more Giger-ish and movie accurate appearance (even though it was never seen like this in the films.....by now).

The textures got finalized as well the whole geometry was tweaked a bit here and there. To complete the overall impression of my version of Giger´s genius Egg silo concept, a nice bunch of eggs were added, waiting for some unfortunate guest to arrive ;)

ALIEN Egg and Facehugger

Here an update of my CG ALIEN Egg and the Facehugger. Since both are rigged now and the texturing went along too, I wanted to show them put together the first time. Textures need still an eye on as well the slime is not final too.

ALIEN Eggsilo based on H.R. Giger concept

Here a brief test render of my envisioning of the so called "Eggsilo". I modeled my own composition of the original H.R. Giger concept and the egg chamber inside the derelict spacecraft as to be seen in the movie.

I always loved Gigers concept of the egg silo and the uterus shaped main form emphasizes once more the dark and deep sexual allusions inside the ALIEN universe.

Worked a bit on the ALIEN3 Runner. A few tweaks here and there. For test reasons I shaped the lips a bit to show the dentition. Enjoy.

Chestburster CG sculpt WIP

Beside the other Alien types and creatures, I worked always a bit on the Chestburster too. Of course I could not left that iconic part of the franchise behind ;)

You see here a work in progress of the ZBrush sculpt. Still a few things to tweak. By the way, my model shows the original design from the first film. I always preferred an armless and small-mouthed version over the followed up designs.

Stay tuned for updates on this one and for the final "Burstday"-party (don´t bring Your best suit for that one).

Here a small update of the ALIEN 3 Runner or Dog-Alien or whatever you wanna call it. It´s my attempt to rebuilt a CG (3D) version of the creature as it was seen in the third movie, helmed by David Fincher.

Base mesh was done in XSI and what I show here is the current state of the ZBrush model. Still a way to go to call it finished. Stay tuned for updates and the final animatable and textured version.

Pushed the render button two more times and want to share some more Aliens Warrior pictures. I guess I concentrate now on something (somebody) else and leave the Cameron Xeno on hold for a while.

First shot shows the Alien in a kind of mantis like way. If you look close in the movie you can spot something like that once or twice. I call that shot the "Geometric" pose ;)

Newest renderings of the Stan Winston / James Cameron ALIENS warrior. I applied a similar shader as to be seen in the new Giger ALIEN model shots. Tweaked the mesh here and there a bit, mainly the head as well the tail got some minor rework.
